Oral history interviews of the Jewish Pioneer Video Project, 1997-2006.

The collection documents oral traditions and recollections of Jewish pioneer families in New Mexico. Seventeen video taped interviews were conducted with 18 Jewish families who settled in New Mexico between the middle of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Most of the interviews were conducted between 2000-2004, however, some interviews previously conducted by Congregation Albert were included in this collection as well. In addition to the video taped interviews, the collection also includes interview transcripts and assorted documentation. Documentation consists of a set of 13 family history booklets as well as a brief introduction to the project, provided by Dr. Henry Tobias. The collection is organized by Pioneer family. Families included are Danoff, Solomon//Lesinsky/Freudenthal, Goldsmith, Gusdorf, Herztein, Ilfeld/ Nordhaus, Moise, Ravel, Seligman/Floersheim/Bibo, Spiegelberg, Taichert, Wertheim/Vorenberg and Wertheim (Fort Sumner).
